You can tell by listening to their self-titled 12“ EP that DIE TUNNEL haven’t arrived in their rehearsal space with a 5 year plan.
Instead, you hear a variety of influences in their music - from dark garage punk to sixties, west coast psychedelic tunes, along with a subtle hardcore influence.
They recorded this EP by themselves in their practice room, with only 7 tracks of their old 8 track tape machine working, and too much gain included - the vocals cutting through a dystopian mourning synthesized sound.
Every now and then, pop also raises its’ ugly, beautiful head…The lyrics live in dark frequencies - they travel into the metaphysical self or pay homage to the Australian surf legend Michael Peterson.
